I hate hate HATE to do this, but, I need some monetary help. My father has been in the ICU for almost 3 weeks now and that means I’ve been taking a lot of time off work to care for him. My last paycheck was delayed due to the holidays, leaving me just short of being able to pay for a bill.
I hate asking for money but I don’t really know what else to do. The whole household and family is strapped due to my father’s condition. Please, help?
Things have… gotten a lot more serious. The company my father works for has turned out to be completely unhelpful and scummy, and they’re cutting off his insurance coverage on Friday with no warning. We only have a week to file disability paperwork that takes MONTHS to process.
I don’t know how much my family and I will need, or for how long, but every little bit I’ve gotten so far has been a huge help and I thank you all so much.
My dad isn’t stable and the hospital has decided its now or never for the heart surgery. There’s a high likelihood he won’t survive but it’s his only shot. We are struggling just to find a surgeon willing to just CONSIDER it and until we find one he must remain in the ICU which is… hideously expensive.
The hospital has decided he’s stable enough to move to another hospital. Then again, the last time they said he was stable he crashed and was legally dead for 15 minutes within 48 hours of the move. This new hospital is more expensive but they will hopefully be able to care for him better after his tracheotomy. We are still fighting the insurance company and all the help I’ve received so far has been incredible. Thank you so much. We are still in need but my mom and I aren’t going to starve now.
Things continue to get worse. We found out that my father had let all of his bills lapse for the past few months, meaning he has several thousands in debt that he, and we, have absolutely no way of paying. This includes the insurance on my car. So, any bit you can spare will help so much as we’ve got to scramble to pay everything that he let lapse.
I’m pretty sure someone is out to get me at this point. This morning I woke up and had severe difficulty breathing. I really don’t have the money to spare to get me into the doctor right now as everything I’ve gotten has gone towards bills and food, but anything would be appreciated. Thank you all so much, I can’t say just how appreciative I am of each and every one of you.
My dad was moved to a critical care hospital two weeks ago and was on the mend. However, we soon discovered the hospital is very poorly managed and my dads care was abysmal. They tried to replace his trach BEFORE HIS STITCHES WERE OUT and ended up causing so much tissue damage he’s now bleeding into his own lungs and unable to speak.
We are absolutely considering filing a malpractice suit but that will take a lot of money and time away from work. I know its around the holidays, and you’ve given so much, but I’m going to keep reblogging and keep the link open as I’m going to need all the help I can get going into the new year.
