Professor Stephen Hawking believes Zayn might still be in One Direction – in a different universe
Bless Stephen Hawking for taking this question and not dismissing girls, as so many people do, but instead reframing the question to suggest they look into the wonder and craziness that is theoretical physics.
Reblogging because this is perfect.
RIP you amazing, witty, intelligent, compassionate man.
Whoa, I didn’t realize that it was so deliberate, I honestly thought it was unconscious
Scary, scary.
Gonna add on to this: From the other side of the bar, I see this crap all the time. Seriously. I work at a high-density bar, and let me tell you, I have anywhere from 10-20 guys every night come up and tell me to, “serve her a stronger drink, I’m trying to get lucky tonight, know what I mean?” usually accompanied with a wink and a gesture at a girl who, in my experience, is going to go from mildly buzzed to definitively hammered if I keep serving her. Now, I like to think I’m a responsible bartender, so I usually tell guys like that to piss off, and, if I can, try to tell the girl’s more sober friends that they need to keep an eye on her. But everyone- just so you know, most of the time, when someone you don’t know is buying you a drink, they’re NOT doing it out of a sense of cordiality, they’re buying you a drink for the sole purpose of making you let your guard down. So:
Tips for getting drinks-
1. ALWAYS GO TO THE BAR TO GET YOUR OWN DRINK, DO NOT LET STRANGERS CARRY YOUR DRINKS. This is an opportune time for dropping something into your cocktail, and you’re none the wiser.
2.IF YOU ORDER SOMETHING NON-ALCOHOLIC, I promise you, the bartender doesn’t give two shits that you’re not drinking cocktails with your friends, and often, totally understands that you don’t want to let your guard down around strangers. Usually, you can just tell the bartender that you’d like something light, and that’s a big clue to us that you’re uncomfortable with whomever you’re standing next to. Again, we see this all the time.
3. If you’re in a position to where you feel uncomfortable not ordering alcohol:
Here’s a list of light liquors, and mixers that won’t get you drunk, and will still look like an actual cocktail:
X-rated + sprite = easy to drink, sweet, and 12% alcoholic content. Not strong at all, usually runs $6-$8, depending on your state.
Amaretto + sour= sweet, not strong, 26%.
Peach Schnapps+ ginger ale= tastes like mellow butterscotch, 24%.
Melon liquor (Midori, in most bars) + soda water = not overly sweet, 21%
Coffee liquor (Kahlua) +soda = not super sweet, 20%.
Hope this helps someone out!
Backing this up from years of bar tending.
Shirley temples and Roy Rodgers are just soda drinks. And have no alcohol and will normally go over someone’s head that it’s not going to get you drunk !
More than 2,500 walkouts were planned across the country, according to Empower, the youth branch of the Women’s March that has been organizing the event.
Participants called for stricter gun laws as they also remembered the people who lost their lives in Parkland.
Many schools accommodated the demonstration. Others didn’t allow it, encouraging students to express themselves in ways other than walking out.
homophobes are not allowed to use computers because the inventor of the computer was gay
People think this is just a joke but Alan Turing was the inventor of the computer and his sexuality was illegal in his time (which was not even 100 years ago) and he was arrested. They put him on drugs that destroyed his genius brain and committed suicide a year after being covicted. He was gay and a war hero as well. He helped to break enigma which was a German code that they put all their messages through. He shorted WWII by two years and saved so many lives in the process.
Friendly reminder that if not for Alan Turing you wouldn’t be reading this post and we might be ruled by the nazis
My school took part in the walk out today and most of the school showed up
And a lot of people carried signs
It was planned by a student and he’s going to send a letter to our governor with a poster that everyone who took part in the walk out signed to say we want the gun laws of our state to change
We weren’t allowed to leave the campus (our school is next to a major road so it wouldn’t be safe to leave the campus) but everyone was taking pictures/videos and posting them online
And a lot of kids were talking about how horrible it is that so little has been done even though it’s been a full month since the Parkland shooting
And everyone agreed that our gun laws need to change because we shouldn’t all be worried about getting shot when we go to school
Introducing Gay Representation™ now in two original flavors:
1. Dead lesbian
2. White gay boy written 100% for the female demographic
how could you forget number 3
gratuitous inaccurate lesbian sex scene made for straight men
and of course the 4th
gay character gets five seconds of screentime at the very end
This is great but it’s missing the 5th: character who is only revealed to be gay by the media’s creator outside of the canon and whose sexuality is never actually present in any capacity in the media
Thank u all for properly extending the Gay Representation Menu
