Content warning: anti-black slurs, racism, and colorism from comments
There have been some questions and insults over this edit, and I am going to answer them. There will be a mini-edit at the end to reward those that reach to the end of this post.
@halfageist Momo isn’t white, she’s japanese, Which is asian. And in this headcanon she’s dark skinned south east asian and east asian. dark east asians exist.
@oddmoralsandgems yes, she is japanese, when did i say she isn’t? dark skinned japanese people exist and this is a headcanon for fun. blackwashing isn’t discriminatory because colorism exists, i suggest googling about this or scrolling down on this post.
again, she is japanese. no, not all japanese people tan red. There are japanese people that aren’t mixed that get just as dark as momo here. The official art had very noticeable anatomical issues and I study anatomy + art. The eyes were un-even, the arms were hanging, the weight of motion for the body was a contradiction, and because of some other parts of how horikoshi drew her it was noticeable for me. Professional artists can have bad anatomy and in the art industry, fixing or red-lining another’s art is not uncommon.
