Welp, it’s 4 in the morning so time to make random Voltron theories!
Let’s go!
Alright, so remember when Lance recognized Keith in two seconds during the first episode just from looking at him through a pair of binoculars up on a cliff in the middle of the night? (Haha who doesn’t remember?)
Hunk instantly knows who Lance is talking about, which shows that either Hunk remembers Keith from being in the Garrison with him, or he knows about Keith from Lance talking about him (it’s probably a little bit of both tbh). Hunk seems confused and a little shocked, to which Lance mentions that he’d recognize him anywhere. Pidge has no idea who they’re talking about though, which being younger than them (she joined the Garrison after Keith was booted out), is understandable.
So obviously Hunk and Lance know who Keith is. Later on, Keith ends up recognizing Lance, but you know who he doesn’t recognize? Hunk.
So obviously Keith and Hunk have not had many interactions, but Hunk still clearly knows who Keith is.
What’s interesting though, is later on when Shiro is in Keith’s house, after Keith explains his whole conspiracy theory with the Blue Lion, Shiro introduces himself to everyone. But the first person he introduces himself to is Lance, calling him by name.
But the thing is, Lance never told Shiro his name. He couldn’t have heard Lance’s name when Lance said it to Keith, because he was unconscious at the time. What’s more, Shiro doesn’t know who Pidge and Hunk are, so Pidge introduces themselves to Shiro.
So how does Shiro know Lance, and Hunk know Keith, when Keith doesn’t know Hunk and Lance and Shiro have never met before?
My theory is that Keith and Lance both talked about each other and Hunk and Shiro recognized them because of it. Keith probably mentioned this Cuban boy who drove him nuts and Lance probably complained about this mullet boy named Keith who always did better than him. It was already shown that Lance talked about Keith to Hunk when he became a fighter pilot. I bet Hunk and Shiro had little to no clue who these boys were, but because it was so important to their friend/brother, they took notice and just smiled inside at how goofy those two are.
Hey this is a pretty interesting story. (Don’t forget to turn on English CC)
Otouto no Otto / “My Brother’s Husband” is based on a manga of the same title. The series follows the relationship between stay-at-home father Yaichi, his daughter Kana, and Canadian Mike Flanagan, who married Yaichi’s estranged and recently deceased twin brother Ryōji. The manga deals with issues of homophobia and cultural differences. (description taken from Wikipedia)
The live drama series will only be 3 episodes so I hope somebody will take the time to subtitle it when it releases so I can watch it.
